The excitation function of the Al/sup 27/(p,p pi /sup +/)Mg/sup 27/ reaction i s obtained at 130 and 660 Mev. The reaction threshold is near 200 Mev. The excitation function levels at 500 to 550 Mev are studied. On the plateau, the Al/sup 27/(p,p pi /sup +/)Mg/sup 27/ reaction cross section is 0.16 plus or minus 0.02 mb. (auth)
