ON COMPLEX FORMATION OF LANTHANUM (in Russian)

Separation of La by complexing with ethylenediamintetraacetic acid (EDTA) and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) was studied. The optimum amount of complexing substances for the Ce--Sm groups and the most effective pH for lanthanum separation from the cerium group were determined. The dependence of La distribution on the amount of EDTA, acidity of the solution, and pH of the complexing solutions is tabulated. Tables are also given of the La and Nd distribution in NTA and the La distribution between resin, precipitate, and solution. (R.V.J.)
