A review is given of the present state of knowledge on the antibaryon and heavy antiparticles. The general classification of the studies on antiparticles is defined, and the experemental verification of the properties of antibaryons predicted on the basis of the general principles of symmetry is shown. Nuclear properties of antiprotons are reviewed in some detail. The process of antinucleon-nucleon annihilation is described. Antiproton-nucleus interactions are discussed. In conclusion, the annihi1ation of p with light nucleons in the nucleus is considered. 66 references. (J.S.R.)
