CALCULATION OF POLE PIECE SURFACES IN A MAGNETIC SPECTROMETER (in German)

For a high-resolving flat spectrometer with 190-degree focusing, the surfaces of the pole pieces were calculated using conformal mapping. The perturbation of the magnetic field near the edges was considered. The influence of the exciting coil and hysteresis effects are also discussed. A general method is developed to alculate the correction to be applied to the pole pieces, if the field produced by them deviates slightiy from the prescribed field. (auth)
