INVESTIGATIONS ON A PULSED ELECTRODELESS RING DISCHARGE WITH MAGNETIC BIAS FIELDS OF DIFFERENT AMPLITUDES

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4821022
The formation of plasma in electrodeless ring discharges with steady magnetic bias field of various amplitudes was investigated. Magnetic fields of suitable intensities were measured and the temporal behavior of the discharge was observed. It was found possible to measure the electron temperature and estimate electron density. Results show that electron temperatures depend on initial magnetic fields. (J.R.D.)
