Two improvenients to the Stellarator are described: (l) The helical magnetic surface is changed into a cylindrical magnetic surface at the place of the divertor and the magnetic pumping section by means of current loops at the ends of the current windings that produce the helical magnetic surface. The curved parts of the endless tube are composed of a plurality of sections having alternately positive and negative curvature. (NPO)
