NUCLEAR SPIN MEASUREMENTS ON NEUTRON-DEFICIENT TELLURIUM ISOTOPES

The atomic-beam magnetic-resonance technique was used to measure the nuclear spins of some cyclotronproduced tellurium isotcpes with the following results: Te/sup 116/(2.5 hours) I = O, Te/sup 117/ (61 min) I = 1/2, Te/sup 119/ (4.5 days) I = 11/2 and Te/sup 119/ (16 hours) I = 1/2. These results are consistent with recent spectroscopic observations of these isotopes and are discussed in relation to the nuclear shell model. The atomic g-value of tellurium was measured using spin-zero isotopes. The result, g/sub j/ = l.46l8(2), is in agreement with the theoretical value, if the partial breakdown of the LS-coupling is considered. (auth)
