New activities in the rare earth region were identified and decay characteristics of previously reported activities in this region were studied in more detail. They were produced by the ( gamma ,p) reactions and measurement was made using scintillation spectrometers. Results were as follows: nuclides half lives beta rays gamma rays Eu159 19.0 plus or minus 1.0 min 2.2 plus or minus 0.1 Mev (45, 170 kev) Tm173 7.3 plus or minus 0.5 hr 0.90 plus or minus 0.05 Mev 400, 470 kev Tm175 20 min 2.0 Mev 5l0 kev Lu178m 16 min 1.50 plus or minus 0.05 Mev 60, 90, 215, Lu179 7.5 plus or minus 0.5 hr 1.35 plus or minus 0.05 Mev 90, 215kev Analyses were made using the unified model.
