THE SOLAR GEOPHYSICAL EVENTS OF NOVEMBER 1960
Journal Article

Measurements of solar phenomena, cosmic rays, ionosphere, geomagnetism, and aurorae are summarized. A theoretical model is presented for disturbances, which appears to be consistent. It is shown that the events of November 1960 are unique in that they provide not only information on solar particles up to cosmic- ray energy ranges, but also on interplanetary magnetic fields. Some discoveries made in the events are described briefly. (auth)
