DIFFERENTIAL CROSS SECTIONS OF THE Be$sup 9$(Li$sup 7$$,$$alpha$)B$sup 12$ AND Be$sup 9$(Li$sup 6$$,$$alpha$)B$sup 11$ REACTIONS

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
Differential cross sections were measured for alpha particles from the reactions Be/sup 9/(Li/sup 6/, alpha )B/sup 12/ and Be/sup 9/(Li /sup 7/, alpha )B/sup 12/. These reactions were studied for the ground states, the first seven excited states of B/sup 11/, and the first four excited states of B/sup 12/. Absolute cross sections were measured by comparison with Rutherford scattering. The measurements were carried out for laboratory bombarding energies from 3.3 to 3.75 Mev. (auth)
