An iteration method for connected graphs

The hyperfine structure of the metastable (4s4p) / sup 3/P/sub 2/ state of Zn/sup 67/ and the metastable (3s3p)/sup 3/P/sub 2/ and/ sup 3/P/sub 1/t state s of Mg/sup 25/ were measured by the atomic beam magnetic- resonance technique. The magnetic dipole and electric quadrupolecoupling constants are: Zn/sup 67/(/sup 3/P/sub 2/), A = 531.987 plus or minus 0.005 Mc/ sec, B = 35.806 plus or minus 0.005 Mc/sec; Mg/sup 25/(/sup 3/P/sub 2/, A = Mg/ sup 25/(/sup 3/P/sub 1/), A =--144.977 plus or minus 0.005 Mc/sec, B =--8.308 plus or minus 0.005 Mc/sec. These results are compared with the theory of two- electron hyperfine structure. The electric quadrupole moments of these nuclei are: Q(Zn/sup 67/ = 0.16 x 10/sup -24/ cm/sup 2/, Q(Mg2) = 0.22 x 10/sup -24/ cm/ sup 2/. The quadrupole moment of Mg/sup 25/ agrees with that value obtained using the collective model in strong coupling. The detection of a beam of metastable /sup 3/P/sub 1/ Mg atoms places a lower limit on the lifetime of this state of about 10/sup -3/ sec.
