EPA site demonstration of the sonotech frequency-tunable pulse combustion system. Volume 2

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:48194
A Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Demonstration was conducted to determine if waste incineration is a potential application for the pulse combustion burner technology developed by Sonotech, Inc., of Atlanta, Georgia. Waste feed consisted of coal-tar and contaminated soil from two manufactured gas plants (MGPs) and coal. Testing was planned to compare the conventional rotary kiln incineration system (RKS) at EPA`s Incineration Research Facility (IRF) with the retrofitted Sonotech unit. The paper provides information on the technology description and planned testing procedures.
