SUCCESSIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC TITRATION OF THORIUM AND THE SUM OF RARE EARTHS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Anal. Khim.
OSTI ID:4818390
Methods were developed for the spectrophotometric titration with complexone III in the presence of arsenazo I of gamma quantities of the following elements: rare earths (in the presence of ascorbic acid at pH 6.6); thorium (pH about 2); and thorium and the rare earths (by successive titration in a single sample). The method proposed for the determination of thorium and the rare earths, without their preliminary separation, has certain advantages over the method of visual titration (the minimum limit of the determined quantities of these elements is 3--4 orders lower), and over the method of the simple spectrophotometric deter mination.
