CHANGE OF NUCLEIC ACID IN CHICK EMBRYO AFTER X- AND Co$sup 60$ $gamma$- IRRADIATION

DNA and RNA contents per one chick embryo irradiated were reduced as compared with the control group. The reduction degree was greater, when a larger dose was given. ED/sub 50/ for DNA decreased with increasing age. When a chick embryo, younger than 12 days, was irradiated, a great reduction of RNA resulted. This reduction was smaller in embryos over 12 days old. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 5, May 1962).
