COINCIDENCE OF THE CONVERSION ELECTRONS FROM THE DYSPROSIUM FRACTION (in Russian)

The coincidence of conversion electrons from the dysprosium fraction separated from Ta irradiated with 660-Mev protons was studied by means of a double-lens beta -spectrometer. The measurements were started about 20 hours after the end of the irradiation. In the fraction studied, electrons from Dy/sup 157/ (T/sub 1/2/, = 8 hrs), Dy/sup 155/ (T/sub 1/ hrs(, Dy/sup 153/ (T/sup 1/2/ = 6.4 hrs) and from the daughters Tb/sup 155/ (T/sup 1/2/, = 5 days) and Tb/sup 155/ (T/sub 1/2//, = 62 hrs) were observed. Th e results indlcate that the transitions with a h nu = 182.5, 83.01 and 60.77 kev form a ternary cascade; the 326.4-kev transition proposed for the Dy/sup 157/ -- Tb/sup 157/ runs parallel with this cascade. There is a 326.4-kev excited state for Tb/sup 157/. The data obtained confirm the correctness of the decay mode of the Dy/sup 157/ -- Tb/sup 157/ transition, first proposed by Mihelich et al. (Phys. Rev. l08, 989 (1957)). In the Dy/sup 153/ -- Tb/sup 153/ decay a coincidence has been established between the Kl47.5 and Kl49.0 electrons and conversion electrons with enrgies of about 41 and 84.27 kev. (TTT)
