A SYSTEM FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS DETECTION OF TWENTY POSITRON-EMITTING SOURCES

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4816634
A detection system was constructed for counting simultaneously the positrons emitted from twenty radioactive sources. The system features high efficiency of detection (20%), low background (1/3 counts per minute), insensitivity to source thickness and geometry, and complete discrimination against beta-decay electrons and gamma rays not emitted in cascade.
