ABS>The fluorescent x-ray method allowed the analysis of Ti --Nb alloys over a wide range of compositions. No primary standards are required since synthetic standards may readily be prepared. It is believed that the technique may be used to analyze any materials which can be converted to the oxide either by direct ignition or by chemical conversion to a suitable form which may then be transformed to an oxide, fusible in borax.
