BARNS--A PROGRAM TO OBTAIN CROSS SECTIONS FROM THE RBU BASIC LIBRARY

A computer program was developed to make the information in the RBU cross section data library available for other computer programs. Program BARNS exists in two versions, each of which will compute group averaged or point cross sections for an arbitrary array of energies. One version uses unit weighting of the cross sections during averaging while the other version uses a 1/E weighting. BARNS was coded in FORTRAN language supplemented by a few FAP subroutines for an IBM 7090 with a 32 K memory. A description is presented of each of the sub routines in the program. Instructions are given for preparing input to the present code. A dictionary of the variables in Common and a listing of the complete program are included. (M.C.G.)
