Absorption spectra of a sodium uranyl acetate single crystal were obtained in circular-polarized light at temperatures of 20 and 4 deg K. At 20 deg K nine narrow stripes were obtained, characterized by great circular dichroism. Most of the stripes divided into two or three components at 4 deg K. In the case of one of these stripes, at 21135 cm/sup -1/ it was shown that its intensity and form depended on the thickness of the crystals. (auth)
