$$\bar{K}$$ meson-pion interaction is studied considering the effects of K*. The value of the coupling constant for $$\bar{K}$$- π K* interaction and the magnitude of cross section of $$\bar{K}$$- π scattering are estimated assuming the isotopic-spin of K* to be 1/2. Using the value of the coupling constant, the reaction K- + p → $$\bar{K^0}$$ + π - + p is investigated at 1.16 and 2 Bev/c. The total cross sections and the angular distributions and momentum spectra of protrons and pions are examined. It is shown that the assumption of S = l (S indicates the spin of K*) rather than that of S = 0 is consistent not only with the experimental results for the angular distribution of K- + p → K* + p process but also with those for K- + p → K bar0 + pi - + p reaction at 1.15 Bev/c, that is, the magnitude of cross section and the energy spectrum of the pion.
