EXPERIENCES IN THE USE OF SCINTILLATION DETECTOR IN A $beta$-SPECTROMETER OF TOROIDSECTOR TYPE

Journal Article · · Nuclear Instr. & Methods
Experiences are reported regarding the adjustment of the electronic parameters and other operating conditions of a scintillation spectrometer used as a detector in a beta spectrometer of the toroid-sector type. Anthracene crystals and plastic phosphors were applied as scintil lators, while the multipliers were types RCA 6342-A and 5819 respectively. The adjustment of the optimal parameters and the investigation of the operating conditions of the detector were carried out by taking the signal-tonoise characteristics and pulse- height distributions as well as by determining the efficiency curve of detection.
