"CTTS" CHANNEL TRAP TAPE SELECT

CTS, a set of subroutines designed to execute tape motion for programs which require the ability to buffer while reading and/or writing large data sets, was developed primarily for use by Fortran II programs on the IBM-7090. The data channel trap feature is utilized by this program. It is designed such that a program need not be delayed in order to check for the satisfactory completion of input/ output transmissions.
