ELECTROCHEMICAL SEPARATION OF Ti-Al ALLOYS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Izvest. Akad. Nauk S.S.S.R., Otdel. Tekh. Nauk Met. i Toplivo
OSTI ID:4813493
Measurements of Ti and Al electrode potentials in molten sodium chloride showed the inefficiency of the ordinary electrolytic method for refining these metals. Electrolytic separation of Ti-Al alloys can be achieved on the basis of low aluminum chloride solubility in molten CaCl/sub 2/. (R.V.J.)
