ELEMENTARY PARTICLE RESONANCES

The theoretical interpretation of elementary particle resonances is reviewed. The generalizatlon of isotopic spin to invariance under the group U/su is discussed, and a number of predictions of the Sakata model and eightfold way' are illustrated. Various dynamical models of the resonances are described and some suggestions made about the implications of the mass splitting within particle multiplets. (auth)
