ON THE EQUIVALENCE BETWEEN PSEUDOSCALAR AND PSEUDOVECTOR COUPLINGS

Journal Article · · Nuovo Cimento (Italy) Divided into Nuovo Cimento A and Nuovo Cimento B
OSTI ID:4811525
A proof is given of the equivalence between the pseudoscalar coupling theory, and a pseudovector coupling theory in which the propagator of the fermion field is simply (p/sup 2/ + m/sup 2/)/sup -1/ In the latter theory only two couplings are present. One is the pseudovector interaction and the other is a second-order term containing the squares of both the fermion and the boson fields. No other kind of interaction (or nonlinearity) is necessary for the equivalence to hold in any order of the perturbation expansion. (auth)
