ON "TRANSCRITICAL" AND "HYPERCRITICAL" FLOWS IN MAGNETOGASDYNAMICS

Journal Article · · Quart. Appl. Math.
OSTI ID:4811158
The existence of smooth flows in transonic, transAlfvenic, and hypercritical regimes is determined. The flow behavior in the hypercritical regime is, in general, regular for the case gamma =2. Phenomena associated with the flow of a highly conducting gas in the presence of a strong aligned magnetic field are exemplified in two simple solutions. (L.N.N.)
