A NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST FOR DETERMINING GRAIN SIZE AND UNIFORMITY IN MASSIVE URANIUM FUEL CORES
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4810374
The Fuel Core Tester, UT-2, is a nondestructive tester which measures two of the critical parameters of a fuel core: grain size and defects. The tester consists of aofd ultrasonic thruugh-transmission attenuation test for grain size and an ultrasonic reflection-type test for defects. Reject seldaration as well as complete data recording is provided by the test. The data handling provides continuous monitoring of group quality and cdrcuit performance. (auth)
