SOLVENT EXTRACTION OF BERYLLIUM FROM SULFATE SOLUTIONS BY ALKYL-PHOSPHORIC ACIDS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4809907

Experiments with organophosphate solvent extraction of Be from sulfate leach liquors are described. A discussion of theoretical aspects is also included. The best over-all results were obtained by the use of di-(2- ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (EHPA). In comparison with applications in U ore processing, organophosphates in Be technology appear poor, however in comparison with other Be processes this method appears to have merit because of its relative simplicity.
