A method fur the detection of tritium traces in air and other reacton gases is given. According to the proposal, tritium steam is thermally decomposed over heated tungsten or magnesium, the tritium is separated from other gases by diffusion over a nickel or palladium tube, and its radiation intensity is measured wlth a Geiger tube. if the gas containing the tritium steam has a hlgh oxygen coutent, then the water vapor must be separated by diffusion through a hydrate cellulose foil permeable only to water bufore the thermal decomposition of the steam. A sketch of the circuits is given in order to clarify the process. (J.S.R.)
