Influence of F-Center Concentration on the Electrification of the Dust of KCl Monocrystals Irradiated with β Rays

The electrification of the dust of KCl monocrystals irradiated with beta rays is influenced by absorption of electrons in the crystal, creation of F centers, and secondary emission. The F-center concentration in crystals irradiated with beta rays for various irradiation times was measured spectrophotometrically. Based on the F-center model and using statistical calculations, the relationship between the F-center concentration in the crystal and the surface charge due to F centers was found. (auth)
