URANIUM RECOVERY PROCESS

Patent ·
OSTI ID:4805452
BS>In the prior art of processing of uranium ores, the ore is first digested with nitric acid and filtered, and the uranium values are then extracted from the filtrate by contacting with an organic solvent. The insoluble residue ldas been processed separately in order to recover any uranium which it might contain. The improvement of this invention consists in contacting a slurry, composed of both solution and residue, with the organic solvent prior to flltration. The result is that uranium values contained in the residue are extracted along with the uranium values contained in the solution in one step.
