RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM FOR THE NATIONAL REACTOR TESTING STATION

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4804750
All phases of the respiratory protection program at the National Reactor Testing Station were investigated. The review included a usage study of half- face masks, full-face canister masks, and self-contained and in-line breathing apparatus for both the operational and emergency programs. Various masks were evaluated for mechanical leakage and face fitting and adequate equipment was selected based on our particular needs. In conclusion, a proposed operational and emergency respiratory protection program is presented which includes respiratory devices and their limits of usage, training, fitting, care of equipment, and future reviews.
