TESTS OF A CESIUM THERMIONIC CONVERTER DESIGNED TO UTILIZE SOLAR ENERGY IN OUTER SPACE. Scientific Report No. 3

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4804710
A cesium thermionic converter with an integral radiator for solar application was designed and tested. Design, construction, and processing techniques are discussed. Performance data under various operating conditions are given including maximum output power at 1800 deg C of 85 watts with 15% efficiency. The electric generator and reject heat radiator weighs 7.5 lbs per kilowatt of output electricity. (auth)
