A method was developed for separating the heavier fraction from the rotor of a centrifuge by introducing a nonreacting fluid which is much lighter than the relatively heavy fluid fraction into a mixing chamber which rotates with the rotor. The lighter fluid mixes with the relatively heavy fluid and when it is pumped from the mixing chamber draws some of the heavier fluid with it. (M.C.G.)
