IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO CONTROL VALVE SYSTEMS FOR MULTICHANNEL FLOW CIRCUITS
A valve control system for multichannel flow circuits is designed for monitoring coolant from reactor fuel channels for fission product activity. In this system, the channels are arranged into rows and columns, and a first valve snd a second valve are provided in each channel for controlling fluid flow therein. All of the first valves of any one row of channels and all of the second valves of any one column of channels are actuated by first and second common actuating means, respectively. Thus, any faulty channel may be detected rapidly by connecting the columns and rows of channels sequentially with two detectors. Two embodiments of the system are described, one operated mechanically and the other operated with pistons. (D.L.C.)
