A neutron generator with a spark ion source, producing neutron pulses of approximates 15 mu sec at frequencies up to 50 imp/sec, is described. At 80 kv the mean neutron yield is 1.5 x 10/sup 5/ per D + D reaction pulse. (tr-auth)
