Mass Transfer of Type 316 Stainless Steel By Liquid Lithium

Journal Article · · Corrosion (Houston)
Results of a study of mass transfer corrosion of Type 3l6 stainless steel by liquid lithium in the temperature range of 1100-1600 deg F are shown. Metallographic results showed four different types of hot zone attack. The first attack of transgranular nature occurred in a temperature range of 1100-1400 deg F. Remaining mass corrosion occurred in a higher temperature range of 1400-1600 deg F.
