An apparatus is designed for measuring and recording ion-beam currents on a logarithmic scale covering a number of decades so that the necessity for sensitivity adjustment is avoided. The apparatus comprises a reference terminal to which the current is fed. a load resistor connected between the reference terminal and a potentiometer slider, an electrometer, and a servomotor. The servomotor is actuated by the electrometer signal to adjust the slider so that the deflection of the slider gives a logarithmic indication of the current. (D.L.C.)
