The relaxation times of Fe/sup 57/ nuclei in the local field of d sites of yttrium and iron garnet were studied as a function of the magnetic field and of the temperature. Two mechanisms will permit an explanation of the experimental results: the movement of rare earth impurities and the scattering of spin waves by the nuclei of Fe/sup 57/. (tr-auth)
