ELASTIC D-D-SCATTERING IN THE IMPULSE APPROXIMATION. EXPRESSIONS FOR THE M- MATRIX
By means of the impulse approximation the M-matrix for elastic scattering of deuterons by deuterons is expressed in the Wolfenstein and Ashkin invariants for p-p (n-n) and n-p scattering, assuming general two-body, parity conserving nuclear forces and neglecting Coulomb forces. Off-theenergy-shell and multiple scattering contributions are omitted. The deuteron D-state is considered to first order. Finally, the general form of the M-matrix is derived, and the invariant functions of this form are expressed in the nucleon-nucleon invariants. (auth)
