ESTIMATION OF BERYLLIUM WITH ERIOCHROME CYANINE R USING THE RING OVER TECHNIQUE

A method for the microdetermination of beryllium using Eriochrome Cyanine R and the ring oven technique is presented. Determinations can be made on as little as 0.01 mg per ml (0.05 mu g) of beryllium with an average error of 7%. Of the elements likely to be of significance in air pollution studies, none was found to interfere when present in 10-fold excess, and only Mg, Th, Al, and Cr interfere when present in 100-fold excess.
