g MINUS TWO. THE ANOMALOUS MAGNETIC MOMENT OF THE MUON

Considering the muon as a simple Dirac particle, the anomalous magnetic moment was calculated from quantum electrodynamics. It is indicated that the muon is best regarded as a heavy electron'' and that there is no breakdown of quantum electrodynamics down to about 10/sup -14/ cm nuclear size. The mass of the muon is 206.768 plus or minus 0.003 times the mass of the electron. (L.N.N.)
