The forging characteristics of Mo, W-, Nb, and Ta alloys are summarized. Forging practices and the availibilities of various forgings are reviewed. Alloys of Mo with W, Ti, Zr, and Nb; of W with Mo and Th; of Nb with W, Ti, Mo, Zr, and Ta; and of Ta with W, Hf, Nb, and V are studied. A bibliography of 35 references is included. (T.F.H.)
