A PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THERMOLUMINESCENT DOSIMETRY

Journal Article · · Radiology (U.S.)
OSTI ID:4797132
A miniature solid state dosimeter based on the phenomenon of thermoluminescence is being investigated for introduction into an in vivo dosimetry system. The radiationsensitive element is a manganese-activated calcium fluoride phosphor. The dosimeter is in the form of a needle, 10 mm. long and less than 1 mm. in outside diam eter. It is sealed in a glass tube and read by heating at a constant rate. The range is estimated to be from l0/sup -5/ to l0/sup 5/ r. (M.C.G.)
