The ventilation requirements for fall-out and blast shelters are presented. Guides are given for sealing against infiltration, power sources, air requirements for persons in various states of activity, survival times for space volumes with no ventilation and occupants at rest, decay in fall-out radiation, and gamma radiation protection factors for various types of structures. The amount of construction material and monitoring equipment needed are also discussed. (N.W.R.)
