Progress in basic investigations concerned with generation and transmission of radiation in the spectral microwave region is reported. Development work is described on electrostatic-beam parametric amplifiers for low- noise applications, electron beam interactions with plasma, production of thermal plasmas, nonlinear plasma theory, microwave noise in plasma, electron beam interactions with Co, plasma, and plasma harmonic generation.
