COULOMB WAVE FUNCTIONS

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4795764
Nonrelativistic Coulomb scattering wave functions are reviewed. Those properties which are most useful to a physicist who wishes to apply the results to scattering problems are emphasized, and simple derivations of the most important properties are supplied. No attempt was made at completeness. A notation was adopted which emphasizes the analogy with the simpler formulas that result when the charge vanishes. In addition to the scattering problem, the bound state problem is also discussed; only for the nonrelativistic case are all details of the wave function includirg the normalizatton given. For the relativistic treatments, which include both Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations, the spectrum of energy levels was derived. (auth)
