PROGRESS REPORT NO. 21 ON MICROWAVE RESEARCH OCTOBER 1, 1961 THROUGH MARCH 31, 1962

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4795184
Investigations in electromagnetics include work on nonconventional wave guides, and effects of large perturbr-ng surfaces on electromagnetic fields. In plasma electrophysics and electronics, the interaction of high level microwave power with supersonic plasma shock is being investigated. Activities in solid state research are primarily concerned with the interaction of microwave fields with ferrite materials and semiconductors. Microwave research is concerned mostly with components and equipment to meet requirements beyond those encountered in the present microwave art. Lumped and distributed parameter networks and their application to design of devices with optimum terminal performance particularly in the microwave region are under study. Other development is reported in systems control. (J.R.D.)
