The installation, use, operation, and physical description of the 10-kw pool-type Purdue University Reactor I are discussed. Attention is devoted to proposed experiments, to the various reactor operating modes, and to the hazards involved in normal and abnormal reactor operation. Other aspects discussed include the site and building, nuclear accidents, radioactive effluents, construction schedule, finances, and changes in core reactivity. (T.F.H.)
