In citrate solutions Am/sup 3+/ forms complex ions bility constants (at mu = 1) of 5.1 x 10/sup -9/, 7.7 x 10/sup -6/, and 1.0 x 10/sup -14/, respectively. In tartrate solutions it forms complex ions of STAAm(tart)/sub 2/!/ sup -/ and (Am(tart)(H tart)!/sup 0/ with instability constants of 1.9 x 10/sup - 11/ and 2.1 x 10/sup -6/. The composition of Am/sup 3+/ complexes depends on the concentrations of anions and hydrogen ions. (R.V.J.)
